Review of Yorkville, Illinois

moving out
Star Rating - 9/24/2013
Yorkville has continued it's downward spiral over this last year. I'm actually thankful we never bought a house here, because now it will be alot easier to move away. The amount of lowlifes that have moved into this town over the last year is almost astonishing. there must be some kind of government program to move these people in, because we can barely afford to live here with good jobs. Daily i see grown men wandering the streets, no cars no jobs, where did they come from all of a sudden. Our kids school actually failed governmental standards for reading and math. The crime has soared and many more businesses have closed. I just wanted a nice small town to raise my kids. Yorkville is not for me or my family, we are moving out.

It’s 2019 and I still think Yorkville. Illinois is a great place to raise a family. Crime is relatively LOW and the houses are affordable now. I’ve lived through the real estate crash of 08, but steadily the market is climbing back up. However proper taxes are high, yet the saying goes.. you pay for where you live. My kids attended elementary through high school and the school system is great. Not excellent but much better than the surrounding areas. Life here is slie living with a small town feel but I feel it’s still a safe and great place to live.
