Review of Walden, New York

NYC to Walden
Star Rating - 7/3/2022
I’ve lived in Walden for 12 years. I moved up from NYC. It’s the last affordable place to buy an old Victorian near NYC. The location is awesome 25 minutes to great places like Beacon, New Paltz, and Middletown. You can take easily the Metro North or Jersey Transit lines to get to NYC. Also a bus line in Newburgh runs into NYC. The cute safe old small town has a good sporting goods store and a Hannafords grocery store. It’s also got Angry Orchard for a fun Friday Night. Decent school district called Valley Central and several play grounds. They have a rec center and a swimming pond. Winding Hills is ten minutes to Walden and has camping, hiking, boating, and fishing area. Also ten minutes is access to The Buffer Zone (Stewart Forrest) which has terrific Mountain Biking! If you love nature and NYC you can’t beat it’s location and bang for your buck!
