Crime has risen dramatically as the lower social classes move in. The area is no longer friendly or neighborly. It's crowded, noisy, and dirty. Families often rent rooms (and other space) in their homes to two or three tenants. People are no longer proud to call the area their home. It's just another place. Due to the expense, many are stuck.
