Coto de Caza is a small, affluent community in Southern California's Orange County. With a population of around 15,000, it is known for its large homes, beautiful landscape, and exclusive country club. However, living in this particular place also comes with a high cost of living and strict homeowner association rules. She also mentions that the schools in the area are top-notch, making it a great place for families. On the other hand, user "Steven" states that Coto de Caza is "overpriced and too exclusive." He explains that the high HOA fees and strict rules can be a burden for some residents.
Another user, "Samantha," praises the safety and cleanliness of the community, saying that she feels comfortable letting her children play outside. However, user "Mark" points out that the lack of diversity in Coto de Caza can be a downside, stating that the community is "homogenous and lacks a true sense of culture." He also mentions the limited options for dining and entertainment in the area.
Overall, it seems that living in Coto de Caza has its pros and cons. While the beautiful landscape, sense of community, and good schools are highly praised, there are also concerns about the high cost of living, strict rules, lack of diversity, and limited amenities. It appears that this particular place may be a good fit for those who prioritize safety and quality of life, but may not be suited for those seeking a more diverse and affordable community.

Wonderful Climate - 4/3/2008
We live in southeast Orange County, California, in the canyon area just east of the 241 Toll Road. It is a beautiful part of Orange County with mostly clear bright blue skies, warm days and cool evenings. We are about 20 minutes east of the beach, which tends to be 10-15 degrees cooler and overcast more than the canyon area. Our immediate area includes Trabuco Canyon, Rancho Santa Margarita, Las Flores, Coto de Caza & Ladera

Many days of sun and warmth in TC, while we can look down on the fog of Mission Viejo and the rest of the county with it's marine layer. It can get chilly in the evenings as you catch of the smell of woodsmoke from campsites and chimneys, but overall the climate is pleasantly
