Not what it was 26 years ago - 9/29/2020
I have lived in Lakeside for 26 years and watched as it has steadily grown and changed. Unless you are into growing tropical plants, the cold is almost never an issue here. On the other hand the heat is most years. To say that the least comfortable months here are January and February is inane. August and September are uncomfortable! It is September 29, 2020 as I write this, and the high temperature today was 100 degrees. Most of the week is expected to be similar. Lakeside has days that exceed 90 degrees with regularity between June and mid October. Electricity is very expensive here and running the A/C will likely cost you and extra $500-$700 in the hottest months. Water too is very expensive and with recurring droughts and the state's lack of planning it will only get more scarce and expensive as more people move to the region.
