What BestPlaces Users Say about Los Alamitos

Los Alamitos, California, is a small city located in Orange County. With a population of just over 11,000, it offers a suburban feel while still being close to the bustling cities of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Many people choose to live in Los Alamitos for its top-rated schools, low crime rates, and convenient location. However, as with any place, there are both positive and negative aspects to living in this particular zip code of 90720.

According to reviews on BestPlaces.net, users have mixed opinions about living in Los Alamitos, California. While some praise the city for its safety and family-friendly environment, others have complaints about the cost of living and lack of diversity. One reviewer, named Sarah, gives a glowing review, stating, "Los Alamitos is a hidden gem in Orange County. The schools are top-notch and the community is very safe and family-oriented." She goes on to mention the abundance of parks and recreational activities, making it an ideal place for families with children.

In contrast, another user, Mark, expresses dissatisfaction with the high cost of living in Los Alamitos. He states, "It's a nice area, but the cost of living is outrageous. Rent prices are skyrocketing and it's hard to find affordable housing." This sentiment is echoed by several other reviewers who mention the high cost of real estate and groceries in the area.

On the other hand, some reviewers appreciate the small-town feel of Los Alamitos. As Jennifer says, "I love living in Los Alamitos because it feels like a close-knit community. People are friendly and there are always community events going on." This sense of community and neighborly atmosphere is a major draw for many residents.

However, not all reviews are positive. One user, named David, expresses frustration with the lack of diversity in Los Alamitos. He says, "Los Alamitos is a nice place to live, but I wish there was more diversity. It can feel very homogenous and there isn't much cultural variety." This is a common complaint among reviewers, with many mentioning the lack of diversity in the community.

Overall, it seems that while Los Alamitos has its drawbacks, such as a high cost of living and lack of diversity, it also has many positive qualities, including top-rated schools, a safe and family-friendly environment, and a strong sense of community. It may not be the perfect place for everyone, but it certainly has a lot to offer for those looking for a suburban lifestyle in Southern California.
