Value in the Valley - 9/19/2010
We presently live in an apartment in Sherman Oaks, in the Valley. While you have to drive over hills (through traffic) to get to downtown, prices are much cheaper here than on the other side of the hill. Also, there is enough commercial diversity that you will be able to fulfill both major and incidental shopping needs without returning to the downtown area, for lower prices and easy access to public transportation. I highly recommend this area to those looking for a "first buy" in the Los Angeles area, particularly for those with a non-traditional work schedule (able to avoid rush hour
