We have lived in Murrieta for 15 years and we love it. We moved here when I retired after having done an extensive search for the best place for us. We have lived in many places so we had a lot to compare with.

Murrieta, CA Housing is Pricy - 4/16/2012
Maybe it's because I was born and raised in rural Indiana, but it seems to me the cost of housing here is a little outrageous. I mean, if you're making $60,000+, you could get by alright. However, I am an Appliance Repair Tech/Property Maintenance Crewman working for a Conference Center, and it is really tight. A studio apartment is cheap if you're paying $700/month out here, and it just goes up from there. I know one family that is paying $1,500/month for a 2 bed, 1 bath duplex. However, job opportunities out here might make this affordable for some folks. I just know I was at one time renting a 3 bed/1 bath house in Middlebury, IN that had a full basement, an acre of property, a 2 car garage, and electricity/trash/water included in the rent, for $850/month. No, I am not saying SoCal is a bad place to live, but bring your money and plan on losing it for a place to Read More
