WHy I like San Anselmo - 8/10/2011
Funnily enough I'm on the Quality of Life Commission in San Anselmo, and in this locale, that means sustainability. We'll be putting in electric car charging stations soon, and if you drive an all electric vehicle to town to shop, you can park for free. We have a country fair day in September, plus art and wine fairs, movie nights in the park, a farm stand, a Saturday morning produce "swap" and in the summer, on many a Friday night, there is a "bring your own picnic" after work with children's activities, music and desserts.The town council has approved a climate change action plan, and the Quality of Life Commission brings in speakers on solar, water waste, etc in order to offer up recommendations to the public as needed. We also present awards to people who go out of their way in the volunteer arena. There are quite a few consignment (clothing) stores, and a number of antique and sundries stores as well.
