Not a family place - 6/22/2006
I moved to Taft from Lexington, KY with my boyfriend one year ago. He grew up here and he persuaded me to relocate here temporarily. No one in their right mind should ever move here voluntarily! The lower San Joaquin Valley is extremely hot and dusty, almost treeless, and too far from most recreational activities. The Valley is #1 in the U.S. for air pollution due to the agriculture, oil fields, and stagnant valley air. I work for the valley air pollution control district and I don't see these figures changing for the better anytime soon. This is NOT the place for anyone with allergies or asthma, nor for anyone who enjoys recreational or social activities. Despite my job, I'll be moving
