Bedroom Community - 6/17/2018
Tracy is a bedroom community to the Bay Area and, to a lesser extent, Sacramento. The roads and freeways are always jammed with traffic. Crime is rampant. Anecdotally, I found a partially flattened 30 caliber bullet in my driveway- probably from a stolen .32 caliber Saturday night special. Illegal fireworks are very common in summer and present a serious fire hazard to property owners.
The weather is nice in spring and summer, cool to cold in fall and winter. You can grow almost anything here.
Real estate is relatively inexpensive, hence Tracy being a bedroom community and why there is horrific traffic. Food shopping is limited to mostly Safeway and WinCo. There are none of the gourmet or higher-end markets, but there is a small farmer's market, which has decent fruits and vegetables.
