This used to be a beautiful place to live, but then the newcomers moved here to this area last year. I don't really like people moving to this area, but whatever, it's Colorado it welcomes all kinds of gunk from all over the US. Read More

Beautiful, but... - 8/25/2014
I love 80007 area in Arvada, CO, too. There are some stunning views, lots of wide, open beautiful places there, and some spectacular homes. However, unfortunately, 80007 is way too close to Rocky Flats nuclear plant site. In fact part of the National Wildlife Refuge that was a close outlying area of the actual plant site, is in 80007. 80007 is south east of RF plant, and the winds almost blew the RF radioactive junk in that direction.
Soil samples were done in late 2011 near Indiana St. (the eastern border of the Rocky Flats area), which found the plutonium and other radioactive substance levels to be essentially the same as they were in 1970. It makes me sad, because I would so love to live in Read More
