What BestPlaces Users Say about Golden

Golden, Colorado is a small city located just west of Denver, known for its scenic beauty and outdoor activities. It has a population of approximately 20,000 people and is home to the famous Coors Brewery. Many people are drawn to live in Golden due to its proximity to nature and its charming downtown area. However, like any place, it has its pros and cons. Let's take a look at what some residents have to say about living in Golden, as shared in user reviews on BestPlaces.net.

From BestPlaces.net user "Lisa": "I have lived in Golden for almost 10 years and it has been a great place to raise my family. The community is very tight-knit and there are lots of family-friendly events throughout the year. It's a small town feel with access to big city amenities."

BestPlaces.net user "Mike" shares a different perspective: "I moved to Golden from a larger city and have found it to be quite boring. There's not much to do in the evenings and the city seems to shut down early. It's also quite expensive compared to other areas in Colorado."

Another reviewer, "Sarah", praises Golden's natural beauty: "I wake up every day to the most beautiful view of the mountains. There are endless hiking and biking trails to explore. As an outdoor enthusiast, I couldn't ask for a better location."

However, not everyone is a fan of Golden's weather, as BestPlaces.net user "David" points out: "I love the small town feel and the proximity to Denver, but the weather is a major drawback. It can be sunny one minute and snowing the next. The winters are long and cold, and the summers can be unbearably hot."

Overall, it seems that Golden, Colorado has a lot to offer in terms of community, outdoor activities, and scenic beauty. However, some may find it lacking in terms of nightlife and may struggle with the unpredictable weather. It's always important to consider different perspectives and weigh the pros and cons before making a decision to live in any particular place.

Genesee is like living in a national park - 7/13/2009
Imagine living among pines and firs, sitting on your deck thinking you are on vacation in a National Park. Your neighbors are educated and well-to-do. There are miles and miles of private hiking trails. Herds of elk pass through your yard and big-eyed mule deer charm you. Your community is ecologically aware, offers incredible facilities, and is only 20 minutes from downtown Denver. Sound impossible? It's not. My husband and I lived in Genesee for 8 years and it was a dream. Prices per sq ft of house are astoundingly reasonable. HOA dues are $140/month but that includes trash, excellent snow removal, 2 club houses with pools, a professional level gym, tennis courts, a biologist to manage your private forest, and much more. Nope, it isn't perfect, but pretty darn Read More
