Glover Park - 5/21/2008
Very nice pocket neighborhood in Washington, DC between much heralded Georgetown and upper Wisconsin Avenue. "Hidden" in a short valley between National Cathedral and Georgetown this neighborhood is often overlooked as heavy traffic migrates in and out of the city above and below this neighborhood on Massachusetts Avenue and M Street. As a whole Wisconsin avenue, which is a major artery in the city, defines this community and still gets lots of traffic. But without a subway/Metro nearby it still is much less than Connecticut Avenue. Bus runs very regularly and are occupied primarily by young professionals. A fantastic concentration of retail establishments supports this community - Whole Foods, Post Office, Kinko's, Ace Hardware, Starbucks, Bookstore, many restaurants and a great community center with a well equipped baseball field and dog park. Outside of Georgetown this is the most complete neighborhood this close to the city center and is much more youthful (25-50 yr. old range) Read More
