Best Place in South Florida - 6/29/2014
Best:
- walk, run or bike to the beach
- family oriented neightborhood
- international neighborhood
- A lot of bikers
- residential but close to the beach and small downtown area
- beautiful houses, goog looking area
- Lots of parkks, playgrounds and lakes/bays
- many public and private schools close by (Excellent public montesorri, many good charter schools and great private preschools)
- Short drive to Aventura and Ft Lauderdale

Hollywood Lakes Area, wonderful - 5/17/2007
I live in the best area of South Florida. The old part of Hollywood is between two lakes formed by the intercostal waterway immediately west of a two block wide barrier island that forms the nearby beach. The housing here is mid-century and very well maintained. The trees are great. What's best is the sense of community we have here with our very active civic assn, so we have a good voice at city hall. It's not cheap, but it's one of the nicest areas in Ft. Lauderdale /
