North Port, a nice place to live - 10/15/2018
I have lived in North Port (within the City Limits) for the past 14 years. At first, it was like most of the Country, economically depressed, Collapsing housing market, etc. Today & for the past several years, North Port is a place of economic growth, has side walks everywhere, a new plaza with popular stores like, TJ Max, Panera, Starbucks, Publix, Ross, Hobby Lobby, and more. In spite of the stats, I see more families moving here. Its a middle class town and I like that. The weather is typical with 9 months of hot temperatures, about 2 of those months with less humidity, then about 3 months of NICE temperatures. The rain is inconsistent from one year to the next. Sometimes too much, sometimes a drought. There are NO rough neighborhoods in North Port. If there are, its a secret, again I've lived here for 14 years. North Port Florida - 1/16/2012
We just bought a home in North Port. I had read alot of the reviews. I'm kinda amazed that people down in Florida complain about a 30 Minute commute and think that the cost of living is high. At least there are jobs maybe not what your looking for but there are plenty of minimum wage jobs available..yeah not a lot of money but in this economy ...and when you can buy a house in North Port for at low as $40,000. Come live up north. We commute an hour at least for jobs (if there are any)...in snow, and ice...Not in sunshine. Were not paid to much over minimum wage. Out taxes are 3 times what they are in North Port. You complain about the conditions of the roads? We live on dirt roads and dont have any gargage pick up. Some of our roads are not even maintained we have to plow the snow. Our housing market has come down to but you still cannot buy a house here any were close to $100,000 (and if you find one you need to put in about $30,000 to make it liveable). We have foreclosures and Read More
