I've lived here since 1989. It is less expensive to live here, I thought it would be a good place to raise children, I was wrong. The first 10 years it was like a very long really bad camping trip. Most everything you need is in Ocala. After dark you should always make sure everything is locked up, it has always had so many crimes and so many walking dead under the influence looking to steal any and everything. Fences and not looking around as you leave home at the total package, you start out thinking, hoping repairs are being made around you, no, only patching up to resell and each time, within months all looks worse than before. Businesses such as restaurants just don't last, we had a Hardees, now a pizza place, has failed as two other restaurants in the same spot. The cheap to live here is actually the only reason I still reside here. I do know we pay more property tax than anyone else in the entire area.
