21223 Neighborhoods Worth 2nd Look - 6/5/2019
I've lived in the 21223 zip code of Baltimore City for over eight years. This is a large zip code with diverse neighborhoods. The zip code as a whole gets bad reviews online but there are some neighborhoods that are definitely worth a second look. Union Square and Hollins Market have many 19th century brick rowhouses that have been renovated. They are very close to Downtown. Prices range from around $100,000 to several hundred thousand dollars. If you're looking for affordable housing in a safe neighborhood check out Gwynns Falls where I live. With the SW Police Station in our midst violent crime is rare. Newly renovated homes run in the low $100,000's but rowhouses that have not been updated can be purchased for under $75,000. Rents are high everywhere in Baltimore City but purchase prices are often surprisingly low. Mt. Clare neighborhood is just south of the Union Square neighborhood. It is an up and coming community with prices below those of Union Square.  Read More
