I grew up in North County until age 18. I've seen a few of what I would like to call propoganda reviews, and figured I would shine some light on the situation. A number of reviews here have clustered the quality areas of West County and South County in with North County. I can assure you, anyone making that assessment is ignorant of the quality of life available in North County. Gangs are still prevelant and numerous. From the Treetop Bloods, to Six-O, Folk, Posse Up, etc. Violence and destruction are the norm. The crapholes they like to call apartment complexes are actually controlled by gangs.(i.e. Countryside = Crips while Colonial Meadows = Bloods) There are some nice Private Schools available such as Salem Elementary and Grace Chapel. However, the public schools are atrocious. Children per teacher - 2/24/2009
I live in Spanish Lake & the ratio per teacher is not 15 students! It's more like 25 to 30 students per teacher! That is one reason I send my children to a private school. Also, I don't know where you get the job rate is better when we are loosing business' faster and faster. We only have fast food places & and only a few of them left.
