I moved to the state 9 months ago from Florida for a chance to move up in the world a little with a great job and hopes of opportunity. I am very fairly paid here at $46k a year, which is average in this area for the industry I work in. What I did not realize was that the housing cost was so astronomically high, that I will never be able to afford a broken down home in the ghetto of Perth Amboy. I rent a place with friends now, but without the help of their income, we would barely scrape by with renting dives ourselves. If you have the cash for a loaded new Escalade, this may be the place for you. If you have the cash for a new Corolla like me, it may be another story. This site was recommended to me, and looking at all the affordable housing up and down this coast makes my jaw drop. Taxes are going up again, so it's time for me to get out while I can. At least it doesn’t' smell here like the rumors
