What BestPlaces Users Say about Hamden

Hamden, New York, with a population of just over 2,000, is a small rural town nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. It offers residents a quiet and peaceful lifestyle, with beautiful natural scenery and outdoor activities like hiking and camping. However, the town's remote location and lack of amenities may not be suitable for everyone. Here are some user reviews from BestPlaces.net to give a better understanding of what it's like to live in Hamden.

According to user "Sarah M," who has been living in Hamden for 10 years, the town has a strong sense of community and a slower pace of life. She says, "The people here are friendly and welcoming, and there's a real sense of community. The small town atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings make it a great place to raise a family." This sentiment is echoed by user "John D," who states, "I've been living in Hamden for 20 years and I love the peace and quiet it offers. It's a great place for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life."

However, some users mention the town's limited resources and distance from major cities as potential downsides. "Mary S" shares, "The biggest downside of living in Hamden is the lack of amenities. There's only one small grocery store and the nearest city is over an hour's drive away. It can feel isolating at times." Similarly, user "Mark F" mentions, "While the natural beauty is great, the lack of job opportunities in Hamden can be a challenge. Most people commute to neighboring towns for work."

Overall, the user reviews suggest that Hamden is a peaceful and tight-knit community with a strong sense of belonging. However, it may not be suitable for those looking for convenience and easy access to urban amenities. As user "Sarah M" sums it up, "Living in Hamden is a trade-off. You'll have to sacrifice some conveniences for the tranquility and natural beauty it offers."

in this report you claim the medium income is $50,000. It is grossly mis-figured, a life time resident of Delaware County majority of the people in upstate could only wish for that much income.most may receive $15,000-20,000 but not much more. You must be counting the city homes? Who come up buy the lands and farms and some allow the places to fall apart, so many farms swept away because they do not get the breaks that the city owners second and third home get. they are the hardest working and severely underpaid workers in NY state, and are disappearing rapidly due to high cost of living and double taxed on everything. It is still beautiful, but the country is being slowly developed. this loss of farms, dairy, beef and crops will be a wider loss then people care to realize.taxes 8% Read More
