property tax - 5/31/2009
New York has a real problem in the form of its abusive property tax. Housing in this area is relatively cheap, but not inexpensive due to the burden of taxes. Total yearly prop. tax is almost 3%. We are reluctantly searching for a more affordable place to live. Having to leave family, friends and familiar surroundings at age 70 is difficult, but necessary.
