What BestPlaces Users Say about Malone

Malone, New York is a small town located in Franklin County in the northern part of the state. With a population of just over 14,000, Malone offers a small-town feel with easy access to larger cities such as Montreal and Burlington. It is known for its picturesque landscapes and outdoor recreational activities, including skiing, hiking, and fishing.

Malone has received mixed reviews from those who have lived there. Some praise the town's charm and close-knit community, while others criticize its lack of job opportunities and harsh winters. Here are four different user reviews from BestPlaces.net that provide a glimpse into the experiences of those who have lived in Malone.

1. "Malone is a hidden gem in Upstate New York. The people here are friendly and welcoming, and it's a great place to raise a family. The town has a strong sense of community and offers many outdoor activities for all seasons. The only downside is the harsh winter weather, but it's worth it for the beautiful summers." - Sarah M.

2. "I lived in Malone for five years and it was not a good experience. There is a serious lack of job opportunities, which makes it difficult to make a living. The town also lacks diversity and can be quite isolating. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a job lined up beforehand." - John D.

3. "I've lived in Malone my whole life and I love it here. It's a small town where everyone knows each other, and it feels like one big family. The winters can be tough, but the beauty of the Adirondacks makes up for it. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else." - Emily R.

4. "Malone is a retirement town. There's nothing here for young people. The job market is practically non-existent and the cost of living is high for such a small town. I would not recommend moving here unless you're retired or have a job that allows you to work remotely." - Joe P.

Overall, it seems that Malone's charm lies in its small-town community and natural beauty, but it may not be the best fit for everyone due to its limited job opportunities and harsh winters. The town's friendly atmosphere and outdoor activities seem to be the main draw for those who enjoy living there. However, those looking for a more diverse and bustling community may want to consider other options.

Adirondack Park - 4/19/2006
This is a very beautiful area, especially if you love nature, woodlands, mountain lakes and streams, outdoor activities, etc. Winters are long and harsh with a lot of snow, strong winds and below zero temperatures. Snowshoeing, cross country skiing and ice fishing are popular winter activities. During warmer months hiking, camping, fishing and paddling (that's canoeing for non-wilderness types) are the activities of choice. The people here are friendly and watch out for one another. If you like remote areas and the quiet life, the Adirondack Park is the place to Read More
