Richardton basically a bedroom community - 11/4/2023
I have lived herevforv30 years..there is no grocery store. Clothing store..restaurants.. We drive at least 23 miles to shop..usually to shop reasonably requires a 80 mile drive.we have 2 bars..a convenience store..drug store..dollar store no laundromat..all prices higher than regular costs.
Housing is almost non existent if you are a renter...most houses date from very early 1900s on up and many are fixer uopers..we do have homes from more recent years...still have some dirt roads in housing areas. Plus side..we do have city water..sewer..garbage.
So I honestly dispute that this is a reasonably great place for essential living needs..requires computer for basics..and gas in this corner of state is always peak high prices..therefore a good car..4wd are essential. Roads closed herein town and on interstate frequently bin winter..so food supply needs to be maintained.
Las enforcement is on contract from Stark county..we do not have full time officers in town .
