Area has a relatively high cost of housing due to the Metro "Urban Growth Boundary." Property taxes keep escalating due to School spending and bonds. No sales tax - YET. State citizens have defeated ballot measures to approve a sales tax 7 TIMES! This area and state is blue and the state expands (i.e. overspends) its budget every year by at least 10%. The education establishment, unions and government employees are in lock step with the Dem. admin. regarding spending increases. The state green myopia and is wasting heavy amounts of taxpayer dollars by subsidizing useless/marginal green businesses and projects. Much time/effort/money is wasted on frivolous things (bottle bills, smoking, restaurant menus, etc.). The state is anti-automobile, loves congestion and will not build new roads/highways.
