What BestPlaces Users Say about Florence

The zip code 97439 in Florence, Oregon is a popular place for both tourists and residents. It is known for its scenic views, outdoor recreational opportunities, and a small-town charm. However, like any other place, it has its own pros and cons. To get a better understanding of what it's like to live in this particular place, let's take a look at some user reviews from BestPlaces.net.

According to John D., who has lived in Florence for over 10 years, "This place is a hidden gem. The combination of ocean, lakes, and forests make it a perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts. The community is close-knit and welcoming, and the cost of living is relatively low compared to other coastal cities." On the other hand, Karen F. shares a different perspective, stating that "The weather here can be dreary and the job market is limited. It's great for retirement, but not so much for young professionals." These reviews show the diversity of opinions about living in this particular zip code.

Another resident, Mike B., highlights the natural beauty of Florence, saying "I love waking up to the sound of the ocean and having access to miles of uncrowded beaches. The slower pace of life here is a nice change from the hustle and bustle of city living." However, not everyone is a fan of the laid-back lifestyle. As Susan T. puts it, "There's not much to do here and the lack of diversity can be isolating. I've also noticed an increase in tourism, which can make it difficult to find parking or enjoy some of the popular spots in town."

In summary, the user reviews about living in zip code 97439 in Florence, Oregon are a mix of positive and negative experiences. The natural beauty, sense of community, and low cost of living are praised by many residents. However, others mention drawbacks such as limited job opportunities, bad weather, and a lack of diversity. Ultimately, it seems that living in this particular place is a matter of personal preference and what one values in a community.

We love Florence! - 4/9/2018
My husband and I moved here about eight years ago as retirees and bought a home right away. Florence is a small town with a growing population. We both love the mild coastal climate, the natural beauty, the wildlife, the abundance of volunteer and recreational opportunities, the great choice of good restaurants, wonderful small shops on Bay Street in Old Town, entertainment at the Events Center and Three Rivers Casino, and the convenience of having a large city, Eugene, just a little over an hour away for additional shopping and entertainment. It's a great little town! Read More

Green, but wet! - 8/16/2017
Prices are cheaper than California. The coast is mostly retiree's! Average age is 57, so its a retirement mecca. 71 iches of rain is hard to get use too, but it is very moderate, with less than an inch of snow. Average high in summer is 68 degrees and to locals 75-80 degrees is a heat wave. 3 Grocery stores limits shopping, Fred Meyer, Safeway & Grocery Outlet. West of Highway 101 can be 5-10 degrees cooler in summer. Allergies are a mixed bag, dry spells and wind can increase airborne pollen, rain holds it down. Its a tourist town, but active on weekends, year round. Its 60 miles to Eugene, via Hwy. 126. Serious airport is in Eugene. Wild life includes bears and this year cougars. Peace Health is a good hospital, 21 bed, small but old age and ATV accidents are the more common reasons to go there. Lots of Californian's come and last a few years. The rain and lack of places to go creates a turn around. If you like nature, you will never run out of places to Read More
