I am a transplanted southerner. Mechanicsburg is a very conservative (both polictally and socially) town/neighborhood. Coming from the south, I was used to folks being a bit friendlier and outgoing. From that standpoint, coming here was culture shock.

We've been here 12 years now. I still feel like a visitor most times. Most folks here haven't been around other parts of the country much, so they only know the world from here. If you ask them, they truly believe it's a very friendly community. I suppose it's all about what you are used to!
