What BestPlaces Users Say about Phoenixville

Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, is a small borough located in Chester County. With a population of just over 16,000, it is known for its charming downtown area and strong sense of community. Many people are drawn to Phoenixville for its affordable housing, excellent school district, and convenient location to major cities like Philadelphia and King of Prussia. However, like any place, it has its pros and cons. Here are some insights from four different user reviews on the website BestPlaces.net about living in Phoenixville.

According to "John S.", who has been living in Phoenixville for over 30 years, the borough has a "perfect mix of small-town charm and modern amenities." He praises the local farmers market, community events, and friendly residents. However, he does mention that the area can be congested and that traffic can be a problem during rush hour.

Another reviewer, "Samantha G.", describes Phoenixville as a "hidden gem" in Pennsylvania. She loves the diverse restaurant scene and the proximity to outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking. However, she also notes that the cost of living has increased in recent years, making it more challenging for some residents to afford.

On the other hand, "Chris R." has a different perspective on Phoenixville. He mentions that the "crime rate is high, and the school district is not the best." He also adds that the cost of living is relatively high compared to other areas in Pennsylvania. However, he does acknowledge that it is still a friendly and welcoming community.

Lastly, "Emily M." shares a positive experience, saying that Phoenixville is "a great place to raise a family." She highlights the excellent public schools, safe neighborhoods, and plenty of family-friendly activities. However, she does mention that the town can be quite quiet and not suitable for those seeking a more vibrant nightlife.

Overall, the reviews on BestPlaces.net reflect the general sentiment that Phoenixville is a charming and friendly community with its fair share of positives and negatives. As with any place, it is essential to do thorough research and visit in person to determine if it is the right fit for you and your lifestyle.

I lived here for 2 years. Bridge St. is "ok" but gets old fast. I lived right off the strip in an apt community which looked great, but was inhabited by mostly 20 something Neo-hippies. Lot's of parties, people who wouldn't pick up after their dogs, etc...kind of like most of the people in Phoenixville. I worked in Malvern and the commute was terrible. Less than 6 miles away but would take an average of 50 min each way due to traffic. No train station anywhere near the town is also loses major points. If you're younger, go to Conshohocken, if over 30, West Chester. If you like to drink daily and act like a hipster, I suppose this place is for Read More

Not a place to raise children (or anyone else) - 3/9/2018
As a resident, I can tell you this town is not family friendly. Crime is a major problem, yet the local police do not report the activity to keep the appearance of a low crime rate. They sell all over the neighborhood, in front in in back of my home. They corrupt the children of the neighborhood. At least one family sent their child away in order to remove them from this environment.

The police are a big part of the problem. The drug house previously mentioned is two blocks from the police station. Yet the police avoid the area like the plague. Many of the neighbors have taken to becoming sellers for the Read More
