What BestPlaces Users Say about Barrington

Barrington, Rhode Island (zip code 02806), is a small, affluent town located on the eastern coast of the state. With a population of just over 16,000, it is known for its highly rated public schools, beautiful waterfront views, and tight-knit community. Many people choose to call Barrington home due to its suburban feel and close proximity to Providence, as well as its low crime rate and high quality of life. However, like any place, there are varying opinions about living in Barrington. To gain a better understanding of what it's like to reside in this town, I have gathered some user reviews from bestplaces.net to provide context and summarize the general sentiment towards living in Barrington.

According to user "Jen" who moved to Barrington from New York, the town is "a great place to raise a family." She praises the excellent schools and the safe environment, stating that "the community is very family-oriented and there are plenty of activities for kids." However, she does mention that the cost of living is high, which may be a drawback for some.

On the other hand, user "Mike" has a mixed opinion about living in Barrington. While he appreciates the scenic views and friendly neighbors, he feels that the town is "boring" and lacks diversity. He also mentions that the property taxes are high and the commute to nearby cities can be long.

Meanwhile, user "Emily" has been living in Barrington for over 20 years and has nothing but positive things to say. She describes it as a "peaceful and beautiful town" with a strong sense of community. However, she does mention that the town lacks a bustling downtown area, which may not be appealing to those looking for a more urban lifestyle.

Lastly, user "John" has recently relocated to Barrington for work and is not impressed. He feels that the town is "overpriced" and "overrated." He also mentions that the traffic can be a nightmare, especially during rush hour.

In conclusion, based on these user reviews, it is evident that Barrington has its pros and cons. It is a desirable place to live for families and those who prefer a quiet and safe community, but may not be the best fit for individuals seeking a more diverse and bustling city life. The high cost of living and potential commute times are also factors to consider. Ultimately, it is important to do thorough research and visit the town in person to determine if Barrington is the right place for you.
