YUCK! Once a cozy beach town has gone crazy! - 3/19/2007
I lived and worked at Myrtle Beach AFB in 1980. It was a nice quaint beach town. Every tourist attraction was boarded up after Labor Day until the Canadians came down in March. The "blue laws" were in effect. You knew the owners of local establishments. However, once summer started, it became a nightmare. You would wait in lines for an hour at a restaurant or at the bank. Today, it is a nightmare ALL the time. The town is sleazy now with a barage of signs, clubs, Gatlinburg revised, yuck, yuck, yuck. You couldn't pay me to live their now...Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle
