While Kerens is plagued by most of your typical smaller-than-small-town issues, it has some pretty unique features. First, there is pretty much no crime at all. It's poor, but friendly and gang free. There is a grocery store, pharmacy, Dollar General, and Family Dollar, and plenty of gas stations - a few open 24 hours. However, most of these places are very expensive because most of the population is too poor to travel to the nearby Corsicana. If you have a car, Corsicana is 15-20 minutes away and brings you all the restaurants and big-name grocery stores, a college, and easy access to highway 45 into Waxahachie and Dallas. If you prefer the lower crime and smaller-town atmosphere, Kerens is a nice medium with very low cost housing, decent internet and cellular access, and all the bigger bustle is just 15 minutes down the Read More
