What BestPlaces Users Say about Lincoln

Lincoln, Texas is a small town located in the central region of the state. As of 2021, the population is around 1,200 people. The town boasts a small but tight-knit community, with a rural and peaceful atmosphere. It is known for its rich history, as it was founded in the mid-1800s and was a major center for cotton production. Many people consider moving to Lincoln for its affordable cost of living and friendly residents. However, before making the decision to relocate, it's important to consider the opinions of those who have lived there. Here are excerpts from four different user reviews about living in Lincoln, Texas.

1) From "Sarah W." on BestPlaces.net: "I've lived in Lincoln for over 20 years and it's been a great place to raise my family. The schools are small but have excellent teachers, and the community is very supportive. The only downside is that there aren't many job opportunities in the area, so many residents commute to nearby towns for work."

2) From "John D." on BestPlaces.net: "I moved to Lincoln from a big city and it was quite an adjustment at first. But I've grown to love the quiet and peacefulness of this town. The cost of living is very affordable and the people are friendly. It's a great place to retire or raise a family."

3) From "Emily K." on BestPlaces.net: "I've lived in Lincoln my whole life and while it's a nice place, there's not much to do here. We have a small grocery store and a few restaurants, but most people drive to the neighboring towns for entertainment. However, the tradeoff is the safe and peaceful environment."

4) From "Mark S." on BestPlaces.net: "I've lived in Lincoln for a few years now and it's been a mixed experience. The community is friendly and welcoming, but there's a lack of diversity here. It's also quite isolated from big cities, so if you're used to having access to amenities and events, it can be a big change."

Small town in good location for CSTAT/ATX trips! - 2/1/2024
After 3 years of living in Lincoln, it is very hard to leave. We are dead center between College Station and Austin, so it really is a nice location if you have business in both areas. The neighbors are friendly, and there are plenty of convenient stores along the way for grocery trips. Giddings is nearby which has more options for restaurants as well! The country living is a great change of pace after city Read More
