What BestPlaces Users Say about Quitman

As of 2020, Quitman, Texas has a population of approximately 5,000 and is located in Wood County. The town boasts a small, tight-knit community and is known for its charming downtown square and annual Antiques, Collectibles, and Crafts Fair. However, like any other place, Quitman has its pros and cons, and the following user reviews will give you a better understanding of what it's like to live in this particular zip code.

According to Jane W., who has been living in Quitman for 10 years, "Quitman is a great place to raise a family. The public schools are excellent, and the community is very family-friendly. There are plenty of outdoor activities to do, and the cost of living is reasonable." Similarly, Betty F. has been living in Quitman for over 20 years and says, "I love the sense of community in Quitman. It's a small town, but everyone knows each other and is always willing to lend a helping hand. The downtown square is the heart of the town, and there are always events and festivals happening there."

However, not all user reviews are positive. John D., who recently moved to Quitman, shares his experience, saying, "I moved here for a job, and while the town itself is charming, the job opportunities are limited. Many young people end up leaving in search of better opportunities, and the town can feel quite empty at times." Similarly, Megan S. expresses her concerns, saying, "While Quitman has its charms, the lack of diversity and cultural activities can be frustrating. Sometimes it feels like there's not much to do here, especially for young adults."

Overall, Quitman seems to have its fair share of pros and cons, as seen from these user reviews. It's a close-knit community with good schools and a reasonable cost of living, but job opportunities and diversity may be lacking. However, as with any place, the experience of living in Quitman will vary from person to person.

People Of Quitman - 11/27/2007
It has been better in the past year. When I moved here I was astonished by how the additude was in the community. You has to move to the right naborhood to fit into a poticular group. The young family and longterm residants dont get along to well living next door to each other.

The best Place to eat is a Asian woman that cooks out of a kitchen that is on a trailer that can be pulled behind a truck.Bicol lumpia I think its philipno.

Shoping is pointless and needs more than improvement. It is really bad when the residants will drive to dallas to shop instead of doing it locally.

We recently had a Dixon christian coffee recording stuido open and that is the best thing going right now in Read More
