Hudspeth County Living - 7/30/2009
I moved to Hudspeth County in 2003. The land prices here are VERY affordable for a Disabled Veteran such as myself. The plusses of living here are: Crime? what is that? About the only "crime" we have here is when someone from somewhere else gets cought trying to sneak through one of the Border Patrol Checkpoints with some drugs, and gets to be a "guest" of the County Jail for their indescresion. If I hear any gunfire, it is my closest neighbor, (over a mile away), shooting skeet in his back yard. (He has a 20 acre backyard). EVERYONE knows, and greets EVERYONE here, even when driving on one of the four paved roads in the northern half of the County. The cost of living is VERY cheap, my monthly V.A. Disability Check goes a LONG LONG way.
The bad parts of living here is that there are NO jobs. That does not bother most of us who moved out here in the last two decades as we are ALL Retired Read More
