What BestPlaces Users Say about Buckley

Located in Washington's Pierce County, Buckley is a small town with a population of around 12,000 people. It is known for its rural charm, friendly community, and affordable housing options. Many people are drawn to Buckley for its proximity to outdoor recreation opportunities, such as hiking and skiing, as well as its convenient location between Seattle and Mount Rainier. However, as with any place, there are both positive and negative aspects to living in Buckley. Below, I have summarized some of the key points from various user reviews on BestPlaces.net to give you a better understanding of what it's like to live in this particular zip code.

- According to a review by "Linda," Buckley is a "great small town with a strong sense of community." She goes on to say that "neighbors know each other and are always willing to lend a helping hand." This sentiment is echoed by many other reviewers who appreciate the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the town.

- On the downside, "John" mentions that the "job market is limited" in Buckley and many residents commute to nearby cities for work. Similarly, "Samantha" notes that there are "limited options for shopping and dining" in the town itself, which can be a downside for some people. However, she also mentions that the "peaceful and quiet" atmosphere of Buckley makes up for this.

- Another aspect that seems to be a mixed opinion among reviewers is the weather. "Jennifer" states that the "rainy and grey weather can be depressing," while "Mark" enjoys the "green and lush surroundings" that the rain brings. It's worth noting that Buckley does get significantly more rain than the national average, so this may be a factor to consider.

- Despite its small size, "David" points out that Buckley still offers "plenty of outdoor activities" for residents to enjoy. He particularly enjoys the "beautiful hiking trails" and the fact that "Mount Rainier is just a short drive away." Many other reviewers also appreciate the access to nature that living in Buckley provides.

Overall, it seems that Buckley is a town with a strong sense of community and a peaceful atmosphere. While the job market and limited amenities may be a concern for some, the abundance of outdoor activities and friendly neighbors make it a desirable place to call home for many residents.

Rain and winds dreary - 1/7/2022
I have lived in Washington 50+ years, lived in Snohomish County (north of Seattle) most of my years, but decided to move Pierce county (south of Seattle) a few years ago cause it was cheaper, so i thought, assumed good place to retire. Housing has sky rocketed, and traffic is horrible and much worse than i anticipated, only 1 road to get to where you need to go. No one told me weather was way worse here. Constant wind and rain. Power goes out a lot here, all year long. It rains way more here than up North. The wind is very strong shakes everything. Beautiful area, just bad winds and constant clouds and rain make it very dreary. If you are okay with this, you will love it here, i love the town. I wished i had known all this. I plan to move out of Read More
