We LOVE Sequim!!!! - 7/9/2008
My husband and I have vacationed in Sequim the past two years and we are in love with the area!! We wanted so much to relocate to Sequim, but we are located on the East Coast and all of our family is here. We have resolved that we will be vacationing to the Sequim area every year that we can. There isn't a more beautiful place on earth and the weather is fantastic. Being that I completely hate hot and humid weather, Sequim is a dream come true. Sequim in general: - 2/24/2008
Lovely area, Minimal rain,but climate is cool, damp and sometimes a bit to windy from Pacific Ocean air coming down the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Cost of real estate is HIGH. Heavy influx of Californians having sold their houses-coming here to downsize, hense markedly driving up the cost of real estate. Now, Sequim is becoming over priced and over regulated. Lovely Sequim is no longer what it's supposed to be. New Washington State law now permits school districts to pass levies (taxes) with minimum 50% vote,heretofore required 60%. School taxes are about to go through the ceiling. Tax assessor is in the process of revising EVERYONES taxes this next biennium. Area was once great for fresh and salt water fishing. Steel-head fishing is still quite good-only if you know how. It's a tough great fish to catch, but only the locals do well. Salmon fishing is essentially gone: Two fish/day and a short season.
