Living in Arctic Village, AK is an experience unlike any other. Located in the heart of Alaska’s North Slope, Arctic Village is a small rural community of around 200 people. The landscape is dominated by snow-capped mountains and vast expanses of tundra. In the summer months, days are nearly 24 hours long and temperatures rarely exceed 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Winter brings magnificent aurora displays and extended periods of darkness and cold temperatures that can reach -50 degrees Fahrenheit. With no roads leading into or out of the village, transportation often occurs by airplane or snowmobile. Life there is simpler than most places and yet filled with adventure tucked away in its remote corner of Alaska.
