Le Ray is a town in Jefferson County of New York state. It is located on the St. Lawrence River between Watertown and Fort Drum Military Reservation. With an estimated population of 4,400 people as of 2020 the town enjoys a rich history having served as one of the first settlements from Canada in 1799 when it was led by Moses Le Ray de Chaumont who later gave his name to the village that was formed there.
