It’s the perfect place to spend some time in nature and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The town is home to one of Maine’s best known tourist attractions, Fort Richmond which was built in 1795. There are plenty of outdoor activities like hiking and biking trails located throughout the area, as well as plenty of places for fishing, swimming and kayaking. You can also find an abundance of wildlife including deer, woodpeckers, eagles and osprey. In addition to its natural beauty, Richmond has some great restaurants, galleries and boutiques that have recently opened up so you can shop and eat locally produced goods. Overall, living in Richmond provides a peaceful atmosphere with lots to do while providing a unique setting that makes it unlike any other place in Maine.
