It was established February 17th 1889 and derives its name from Abraham Lincoln -the 16th President of United States – who served from 1861 until his untimely death April 15th 1865 due tragic assassination only few days after concluding civil war… Lincoln County covers an area 1,634SqKm making relatively small compared total size consisting mostly vast sprawling plateaus open vegetation ideal herding grazing cattle some which up 8000ft elevations.
