Benewah County is situated in northern Idaho along the Washington state line. It's home to three small cities - Plummer, Tensed and Ahsahka - which are bordered by lovely lakes and forests offering plenty of recreational opportunities for visitors including fishing at Benewah Lake or hiking trails around St. Joe National Forest. The region has also produced some famous historical figures such as Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe who defended their homeland against US forces during the 19th century Native American Wars.
