About Chase County, KS
Chase County, KS is located in the Flint Hills region of central Kansas and bordered by Marion, Greenwood, Lyon, Wabaunsee and Butler counties. It was named after Salmon P. Chase who served as Secretary of Treasury under President Lincoln and established in 1859. The county seat is Cottonwood Falls with a population of 1,026 people per 2019 estimates. Chase county covers 587 square miles with an agricultural economy including mainly wheat production as well as some oil development activity in rural areas.
