About Panola County, MS
Panola County is located in the northwest corner of Mississippi and is well known for its rich history and culture. It was named after the Choctaw word “Pan-Ola” meaning 'long green'. Agriculture is the primary industry with cotton, soybeans, corn, hay, and timber being major products. The county is also home to several beautiful lakes including Sardis Lake which offers fishing and other recreational activities. Other attractions include the Bienville National Forest and Cossar State Park.
