Lee County, NC borders Hoke near Sanford Metropolitan Centre giving an estimated 2019 population standing of 58,064 making it the 59th most populous county situated hereabouts. Its county seat is Sanford although other cities include Broadway & Pinebluff- Sanford itself corresponds out to Lee’s largest town aside from acknowledged county seat. This area had been created from Moore and Chatham Counties back in 1907 when local residents petitioned for new administrative boundaries - posthumously named after Confederate General Robert E Lee whose successful career within Civil War continued late 19th century onwards.
