Montclair State University, NJ Crime

In recent years, Montclair State University in New Jersey has seen a decrease in crime rates, with a current violent crime rate of 7.8 compared to the national average of 22.7. This is in part due to the efforts of the university's Campus Police department, which has implemented various safety measures and increased patrols on campus. Despite this progress, property crime remains a concern with a rate of 23.1, slightly above the national average of 35.4. As a student at Montclair State, I have noticed the efforts made by the university to ensure the safety of its students and am grateful for the measures in place. However, it is important for us as individuals to also take precautions and be aware of our surroundings to further prevent crime on campus.
