Tallahassee, FL

Tally is fun! - 1/27/2017
Tallahassee is a fun town, rich in history and Florida State Seminole-culture. The layout of the town is interesting with Florida State University and the city center with government buildings close by. This creates two different cultures for Tallahassee, one that appeals to the students, and another aspect of rich history and legislative action.

Near the university you'll find unique bars and restaurants catered to students that are fun to explore on a Friday night. The area is buzzing with students moving to and from class. It's also fun to explore the FSU campus to see their stadium, buildings, libraries, and more.

The downtown area is anchored by the Florida State Capitol and can be busy during times of the year when legislators are in town. I've found that the downtown area is not very good for late-night fun, but you can make a great Saturday afternoon by walking through the city and seeing the capitol buildings and old architecture.

All-in-all, Tallahassee is a fun place to visit if you're looking to learn more about our state's history and government.

Tampa, FL

The best of suburban, city, and beach living - 1/27/2017
I lived in Tampa for about a year and frequented the University of South Florida area during college because my boyfriend lived in the area. I love Tampa because the area is huge, and offers a great mix of city, suburbia, and beach terrain.

The downtown area is fun to explore with unique areas like Channelside and Ybor City. There are also some gorgeous views from the downtown city streets because the whole area is bordered by Tampa Bay. If you're in the area during hockey season, my favorite thing to do is see the Tampa Bay Lightening play. Tampa really loves this team, and getting plugged in with their games and fans is a great way to get involved with the Tampa community.

On the weekends, my boyfriend and I greatly enjoyed day trips to the beach, and our favorite spot to visit was John's pass because it was fun to visit the shops in the area, see the boats pass under the huge drawbridge, and the strip of beach always had entertaining people watching opportunities.

There are also a number of unique locally-owned restaurants in the area that were fun to try. I highly suggest using Yelp to find a few new places to try!

I gave this area 4 instead of 5 stars because I hated the constant traffic and confusing road construction, and I felt disconnected from the community at times.

Orlando, FL

Always something to do in Orlando - 1/27/2017
I grew up in Orlando, relocated for school at The University of Florida, and have since returned and I am currently working on buying a house in the Orlando area. I love Orlando because there is always something to do. The area has tons of cool town centers to explore like Winter Park, Winter Garden, and Downtown Orlando. There is always an event or festival going on during the weekends, and I love visiting my local farmer's market on Saturday mornings. The area is also a popular stop on show tours including music, broadway, the circus and more, so it is easy to find entertaining events to attend on the weekends. I highly recommend Orlando for any young professionals looking to get plugged-in to local culture.
