Update 6 Months Later - I'm Out

TERRIBLE pet owners! We have a mandatory neuter/spay bylaw here, and as a person who is involved in rescue, this off-leash business is painful to watch. So many lost dogs and animals killed in traffic. Just so you here a woman's point of view, I am an attractive, loving, giving woman who cannot find a mate here, which has never before been a problem. Men just stroll past while they ex/tinder/surf. No one seems to be interested in meeting the old-fashioned way. I've been thinking about renting out my house and moving overseas where men enjoy engaging with the opposite sex and don't actively try to get out of relationships, rather than into them.

I have questions?!!

I would say 30 yr old covered in Tatts will fit in find and easily be able to find work that doesn't pay well. I am a petsitter, and I know 20 of them. I have 6 very part-time jobs that add up to help me make my mortgage, since I won't work 40 hrs a week for 11-13$ hour. But I am looking to possibly rent out my home, which I was lucky to purchase just under 4 years ago when rents started doubling. I saw the writing on the wall. Now it's crowded, noisy, trafficky, stinky and hella homeless needle junkies sh*tting in our parks and alleys. I would try one of our lovely mountain towns, if you can afford them. They are always hiring because rent is so expensive that it scares everyone off. But our mountain towns- sigh- you will never bee safer and happier.

I have been on & off in CO (Denver and Aspen) since 1993. It's gotten baaaad. I will say that I was lucky enough to purchase a cute, little house in a 'transitioning' area which has already doubled in value. Unfortunately, so have the property taxes. Very soon, I am looking to rent out my house (will not sell since there is a housing shortage now in any great place to live). Jobs that pay more than $11-13/hr are very few and when they do pop up, the person hiring will laugh as they tell you they have had 200+ applicants and just can't get back to everyone. I have quit the rat race and now petsit, and do a few other things to make mortgage + bills. I made 10x the money 15 years ago. But as long as Denver businesses have many recent college grads willing to live 5 coeds to a 2 br apartment, this is what we'll get.

Ordinary city, doesn't live up to the hyp - 8/26/2018
I have lived all over the country, and 2 other continents, and I think Denver winters are pretty easy, for a state that has all 4 seasons. I can't remember the last time we got more than 8-9 inches of snow, and you are correct that the next day it is over 60º so the snow is mostly gone. We have 70º days through November, sometimes December. Maybe you didn't get enough of our sweet, sweet climate change, but here in 2018, it's HOT.
