Toledo, OH

Bad and getting worse. - 1/4/2011
The worse thing about Toledo is the crime. It's gone up so much in the past 10 years that very few people go there to shop anymore. Most the malls are full of gangs and the murder rate has gotten out of control in the pass few years. My sister lives there and she has had her car broke into so many times that they just close count. And I'm not just saying these things because I hate Toledo...I think the city could be a nice place. One reason I think the crime is so bad is because it's so close to Detroit. I May be wrong, but I do think a lot of drugs go between the two cites.

It more than likely is. Here in Napoleon we get warnings on the water bill not to drink the city water because it can cause cancer, So yes, i'm sure it's no different. Or something else to think about is how close it is to a nuclear power plant, which had many major accidents and close calls.

Not the greatest place on earth, but better than a - 2/27/2010
I've lived in Napoleon my whole life so far, and it's a pretty routine place. Not a lot different happens from day-to-day. But, I didn't want to leave a review just to complain. I'm going to let people know what this place has to offer. There's a super walmart in a portion of town with all the major business like; subway, mcDonald's, wendy's, and other fast food places. There's also a store called chief super market, which is a local chain and a bit on the overpriced side. The business are mostly gas stations and banks. As for the small business's...they're all almost in the down town area. As for jobs...they are pretty darn hard to find in town. My family and I are needing to move because of the horrible lack of jobs. It's tough time everywhere. By the way, city management is poor in Napoleon. We had to raise taxes last year just to keep the fire station and police going. The police drive gas hog suv and crown Victoria. We also get warnings on the water bills telling us not to drink the city water for it may cause cancer. It also cost $2 for ever bag of trash over 1...so we have to buy trash tags. If you have just two bags a week that comes to roughly $56-62 a month in trash cost. I would rate this town a 2 out 5 stars.

High Cancer rate. - 11/24/2009
The Sandusky area has a horrible rate of cancer in children. The area is nice, and the lakeside life style can lure you in...but if you don't want someone you care about to get cancer don't movie there. The EPA and the government in general are doing very little to solve this problem also, bummer.

Ohio, OH

Okay, but sufering from hardships. - 11/21/2009
The state is actually fairly divers landscape. Northwest is flat farmland with a few rivers. Northeast has a lot of the cities there; Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown...ect. There is also some farmland, but not as much as Northwest. Southwest is best known for Dayton and Cincinnati...not a lot other than that. Southeast has the more scenic hoking hills area, and plenty of trees. Southern Ohio in general is a bit poorer than the northern half of Ohio.
The state is having hardship like everywhere else due to the tanking economy. Gasoline is fairly cheap in the state. Houses are still being built so the housing market is only fair. It's a buyers market for the most part. Crime is on the raise in most city areas. The state has 5 of the major cities has known to be violent; Cleveland, Toledo, Cincinnati, Dayton, and Youngstown. There are, however, some good suburbs to these cities.
Overall from 1-10 I give the state a 6.
