I am a Real Estate Broker Associate who grew up in Pensacola, moved away for 25+ years, but could not resist the pull of this beautiful area! I am among the top 3% of Coldwell Banker agents internationally in terms of sales volume, hold a master's degree in communications and love spending time on the beach or in the boat. I specialize in waterfront and resort properties as well as military and corporate relocations.

Gulf Breeze, FL

Gulf Breeze, FL - What a Great Place to Live! - 12/23/2007
What a perfect place to live! Gulf Breeze is a small town that is convenient to the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, as well as shopping and the airport in Pensacola (10 minutes or less to Pensacola from the center of Gulf Breeze).

If you enjoy water sports I can't imagine a better place to call home. Gulf Breeze is actually a peninsula with the Pensacola Bay on one side and the Santa Rosa Sound (Intra-Coastal Waterway) on the the other. You are just a short drive from Pensacola Beach (Santa Rosa Island) which has the most spectacular white sand beaches and emerald green water. Boaters, surfers, fisherman, bird watchers . . . this location has something for everyone.

In 2006 the decommissioned aircraft carrier Oriskany was sunk in 10 feet of water about 22 miles from the Pensacola Pass and is now been dubbed the "Great Carrier Reef." The Oriskany attracts divers from around the world.

Another great aspect of living in Gulf Breeze is that Pensacola is the home of Naval Aviation as well as the home of the Navy's flight demonstration team, the Blue Angels. The Naval Aviation Museum at Naval Air Station Pensacola makes a great outing and the Blue Angels do two "home" shows each year, one in July on Pensacola Beach and one in November at the air station.

The area is well known for the many festivals - from art festivals to seafood festivals - that are held year round.

Gulf Breeze schools are among the best public schools in Florida, and the town has a growing hospital, Baptist Hospital, as well as a new sports medicine center, the Andrews Institute.

The only negative thing I can think of is that we are beginning to see some traffic congestion (although people relocating from city areas will laugh at this!). What can you expect with such a great quality of life!
