Very tense atmosphere -
6/16/2021Lake Charles, Louisiana is one of the absolute creepiest cities in the USA. The people feel dead inside. They also seem to secretly hate each other. It is also an Industrial city. It seems like a city that is right out of a horror or thriller movie. It is also prone to extreme weather, like Hurricanes and flooding and severe thunderstorms.
A lot of the people out here are a bunch of weirdos and losers hanging around. If I had any children, I would never allow them to play outside alone here, out of fear that one of these weirdos would kidnap and kill them. (It’s happened before: Read about the murders of Jeremy Guillory in 1992, and the murder of Mary Jean Thigpen in 2001. Anyone who doesn’t see Lake Charles metro as being a creepy place has to be naive and not very observant of others and really doesn’t understand how dangerous this place actually is…I feel people need to be more observant and try to figure out other peoples’ hidden motives..)
The people here seem to only exist as to feed off and take from others. A lot of the people in this city are real oddballs and freaks, if you ask me - I believe most of them are bad news. (Be careful: I just think there is SO much more to these people than meets the eye.) I swear these people out here are dangerous, but noone seems to listen to me or realize this. One day it will be too late for some one. (I wouldn’t bother with most people here. I feel like they are just feeding off you and others. Some naiver ones here probably won’t understand what I am saying.)
I noticed people here tend to talk a lot of strange and suspicious stuff. For example they will often ask you a lot of personal questions, be overly friendly or want you to do something for them. (I.e. prove yourself) Don’t tell anyone anything here until you are certain they are to be trusted. Lake Charles has a load of suspicious people. A lot of them seem to be in a clan or social group. I’d just keep to myself.
Some family members and acquaintances I’ve had here also point out to me that the people here do seem a bit strange. So I know I’m not the only one. I usually respond with “Oh really?” or “You don’t say?” I often find myself likeminded and agreeing with them…Interesting.
Also, Whenever I try to make friends in this city, nobody ever seems to call up and check up on me to help me or see how I am doing. (That's how you know that the people in this city don’t care.) In Lake Charles, it is very difficult for me to find decent people in this city to get involved with. People here also seem to drive really sloppy and poorly and without consideration for other people. That’s how you can tell that the majority of people here are selfish and only in it for themselves.
You get the creeps while being in this city, you always feel paranoid that something is out to get you. Fight or flight. It is very run down and poor. And is also an industrial city. That’s what makes it creepy. There are also abandoned railroad tracks. The city has an eerie feeling of slowly being dead and dying and rotting away. There are lots of meth-heads, alcoholics, junkies, bums, strippers possible sex offenders, child molesters and other criminals Etc. out on the streets. Even/especially at night. It seems like a city out of a horror film. Even the cops here have a sense of suspiciousness too. Alot of the people here feel desperate and dead and like they would do anything to get by. (I doubt anyone is going to push this city for more mileage - It seems like it will only get worse and worse over time.)
I find that I cannot stay in this city for very long - It gets too creepy! I always have an unexplainable sense of dread when I come here. You always feel like you are being watched, even when you are alone. When you’re alone, sometimes you can hear your own heartbeat. It gets way too quiet. Lake Charles is a creepy city. As silly as it may seem, I often felt afraid to be alone here out of fear that someone will attack me out of the blue. You can get really paranoid in this city. I would always advise carrying a weapon in this city for protection here if possible whenever you can. At times I have even had things stolen from me. There are some kleptomaniacs here. Never leave your items alone here or someone will definitely steal them, it’s happend to me multiple times.
EDIT: I've also had a bizarre stalker here who did nothing but call me on my cellphone prank calling me and standing outside of my property.
I called the cops on him and that seemed to have worked, I never saw him again. He was addicted to Meth and seemed to think I was a drug dealer. But that's just a small percentage of the unbelievable incidents I've had here. I was also good friends with somebody here but they later stabbed me in the back and took my money. He had promised me he would help around the house. He never did, he never even showed up once to my property - and when I confronted him
about it one day he just decided he was going to blame me for everything and try to make himself look like the victim and ditched me. He just took the money and ran as soon as he could. The people here (Lake Charles) are absolutely unbelievable and unreliable and are all cheaters and THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!! I’m not kidding. That is not a lie!! None of the people in this city have ever done good things for me!! I swear. ALL OF THEM are literal CROOKS and scumbags!! ALL OF THEM!!
It always feels like people in Lake Charles are out to persecute or take advantage of you. The people here are highly suspicious. That’s how tense the atmosphere is. It’s even creepier than New Orleans in my opinion. The crime is high. There are lots of drug addicts and murderers abound. It’s a very sick and corrupt city. People here are very sketchy & selfish and I wouldn’t trust any of them. I have not felt this way in other places, i.e. like Texas, Florida or Oklahoma etc, only Lake Charles and Louisiana.
